To continue our spring series on federal funding, our advocacy firm, Lewis-Burke Associates, will be on campus to present two sessions to faculty.

  1. 9:00 am – 10:00 am: Engaging with the Federal Government

This presentation will review how faculty/institutions can engage with agencies and Congress to help shape science policy and priorities.  This will include a discussion of the budget/appropriations process, as well as various opportunities for faculty engagement with Congress and agencies outside of the grant-making process.

  1. 10:15-11:15 am: Federal Landscape Presentation

This presentation would give an overview of priority agencies, including ongoing priorities and programs, anticipated major initiatives, and forecasts based on both the FY 2022 appropriations bills as well as the FY 2023 President’s Budget Request with emphasis on new programs involving energy, climate, and environmental priorities.

There will be time for Q&A during both sessions.

The event will be recorded and made available for viewing by those who were unable to attend.
