Workshop: New Electrical Characterization Capabilities

Birck Nanotechnology Center
November 10, 2021
12:00 AM - 12:00 PM
In Person / BRK 2001

Description

LakeShore Cryotronics and Neil Dilley are hosting a workshop to highlight some new equipment in the Birck Spintronics Lab and present results from beta phase testing. These include:

  • LakeShore Synchronous Source-Measure system M81: sensitive, flexible, automated AC+DC electrical measurements system for, e.g., Hall effect (with gating), differential conductance, ESD-sensitive materials, and more.
  • LakeShore FastHall M91: DC resistance system with automated permutation of wiring for Hall effect and resistance measurements to quickly determine Hall coefficient, carrier concentration, carrier type and mobility.

Both of these equipment are installed on the PPMS DynaCool cryostat in the Birck Spin Lab which provides an environment with T = 1.8 - 400 K and fields up to 9 tesla.

We will also review other magnetic characterization capabilities and give lab tours during the lunch hour.
