Description

Cleanrooms: Using Cleanrooms to Control Particle Contamination

A Workshop Presented by Purdue University

This workshop will provide a brief overview of particle behavior to establish a basis for understanding the operation of a cleanroom, then concentrates on the function of a cleanroom and how a cleanroom carries out that function. It will demonstrate a wide variety of concepts available to the cleanroom designer and discuss the tradeoffs inherent in these concepts.

The workshop will prove invaluable to those planning a cleanroom or modifications to a cleanroom, and will help those currently using a cleanroom to fully understand the design concepts such that they can use the cleanroom more efficiently.

John Weaver is an internationally recognized expert in cleanrooms, with more than forty years of experience in the design, construction, and operation of a weide variety of cleanrooms and clean manufacturing facilities. He is a Fellow of the INstitute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST), a member of the Senior Faculty of that organization, and is very active in the development of recommended practices and guidance documents through NIOSH and the IEST. John is widely published in this field, and has taught numerous short courses and workshops on contamination control and cleanrooms.
