Food Insecurity in the Time of COVID (and what to do about it)
Description

All are welcome to this event, sponsored by the Scholars Strategy Network of Indiana and the Purdue Policy Research Institute. Register here.
Speakers include scholars and activists from central Indiana:
- Heather Eicher-Miller, Associate Professor of Nutrition Science, Purdue University WL
- Katy Bunder, President of Food Finders Food Bank, Lafayette, IN
- Angela Babb, critical human geographer and visiting scholar at IU Bloomington
- Patricia Boling, Professor of Political Science, Purdue University WL
They will address how COVID has made hunger a more widespread and chronic problem; who’s hungry and what’s being done about it; how our “old” programs are coping in dealing with this new crisis, and how to effectively lobby local and state governments to take needed action. Speakers will only talk for 10 minutes each, and the rest the hour will be for Q and A.
