**Important Info for Participants**

  • If you are calling in using a phone for audio, if possible, log in via the computer to the meeting first, then call in using the webex participant number given in the audio link—this will connect your phone call to your name in the participant list.  If you are just only calling in, simply use the directions provided below to call in.
  • When you enter, you will be on mute by default.  When you speak, unmute yourself on the participant list.
  • Please submit your questions through email before the event at environment@purdue.edu, and via the Chat feature during the event.
  • To indicate you want to ask a question, first use the “raise your hand” button, if that does not work, just unmute yourself and comment.  You need to be connected online to submit a question or add a comment. Unless you send it via email.
  • If you plan to use the microphone in your computer or camera, or if you are using your phone, please get on early enough to test for feedback.  Sometimes a computer mic is on even if you don’t realize it.
  • Remember that there is often a little bit of lag time in sound on a video conference, so be particularly attentive to giving people time to respond and to not speak over people.
  • Use headphones, if possible, to reduce any potential background noise.
  • If you are using Webex on your phone or iPad, please note you can also assign a virtual background. https://help.webex.com/en-us/80jduab/Webex-Meetings-Change-Your-Video-Background (desktop apps do not support this feature). It’s pretty cool.
