Brenda Conzalez, a PhD candidate from the Department of Biological Sciences will be presenting on "Old Phage New Tricks:  Structural Analysis of Phage G's Infection Mechanism.

She studies the structure of phage viruses to understand how they interact with cells they infect and use this information for a variety of different applications including the design of new treatments for genetic disorders, environmental detoxification efforts and provide solutions for the antibiotic resistance problem.
