Prescribing an American Tragedy: A Symposium on Opioid Misuse in the U.S.
Description
The use of opioids outside the bounds of a doctor’s prescription has evolved into a public health crisis in America. This symposium brings together a panel of experts to highlight current research and discuss the challenges of resolving this crisis.
Speakers will include:
- Mr. Michael Budd, Chair of the Tippecanoe County Opioid Task Force and CEO of United Way of Lafayette
- Dr. Shannon Monnat, Lerner Chair for Public Health Promotion, Syracuse University
- Dr. Brea Perry, Professor of Sociology, Indiana University
- Dr. Michael Vuolo, Associate Professor of Sociology, The Ohio State University
- Hon. Loretta Rush, Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court
