Air Force Research and Development Investment Process

Dr. Spencer will describe the process the Air Force conducts to choose research science topic/area investments.  The presentation includes a basic tutorial on the Air Force Strategic Planning and Programming Process, a brief introduction into Air Force Core Functions, and a more comprehensive description of the Agile Combat Support Core Function construct -- which incorporates all Research and Development investments across the Air Force.  Also included are the roles of Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), and basic information on AFRL and AFOSR as they relate to academic research.
