  1. Abstract (30 line limit)
  2. Overall theme and goals of the program (one page limit): describe in brief the significance, innovation and thematic approach. Highlight the problem(s) to be addressed and what research strategy will be utilized to address them. Include major research objectives. Explain how the proposed projects and cores will be coordinated and will provide a synergy not available through an individual project approach. Cited literature (not included in one page limit)
  3. Scientific projects (two page limit per project): address the primary goals within the project as well as the synergy inherent between the projects. Cited literature (not included in two page limit)
  4. Scientific and administrative core (one page limit):
    • Describe the core; it's function and it's integration into the Program Project. Note each core must support at least two projects.
  5. Optional Appendix (2 page limit)
    • Can contain organizational and/or integration charts
  6. NIH Biosketch (use new form) including current and completed projects for the PI and Co-PI(s) and Project Leads
  7. Budget (not to exceed $50,000)

  6. Budget
    • A formal budget and justification are not required if the need for funds and how they will be used is explicitly discussed in the Proposal Narrative
  7. NIH Biosketch (use new form)
  8. The funded R01 application from the last review cycle (technical/science section only)
  9. The NIH Review Summary Statement from the funded R01 application
  10. List of publications attributed to the funded R01 grant (provide citation if published, provide journal title if submitted)
  11. Appendix containing all annual Progress Reports since the last competitive review
