Physical Facilities employs students for a number of internship positions to gain real-world, professional experience in a fast-paced learning environment. The availaiblity of internship positions varies year to year based on departmental needs, and open positions are communicated to academic departments and posted on the Center for Career Opportunities website in late spring. 

The following characteristics and abilities are sought from students to fill open internship position needs:

  • Be in a field of study related to the available internship position
  • Be entering their third year of college coursework when they apply
  • Be available to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the summer
  • Be available to work 10-15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters
  • Be able to commit to working a minimum of two hours at a time during the academic year
