How to Request a Project
- Talk to us. Before getting too far down the path on your own, let our subject matter experts help guide you along the way.
- Complete the Space Request Form. The form will help describe your request in detail and provide a point-of-contact so we can get back to you.
- Work with us. After we receive your Space Request, we will contact you to ensure we have all the necessary information.
- Begin the project. Once we understand and have all the appropriate details about your request, we will begin a project by assigning a team or individual to your request.
Project Process
As real estate project managers, we handle a variety of real estate transactions including leases, acquisitions, sales and easements. Throughout the process, we strive to meet both your expectations and the goals of the university. Projects are broken up according to the following phases:
- Project Initiation: We will help you acquire the requisite approvals to move the transaction forward.
- Data Gathering: We will lay the foundation for the entire project by interviewing you to understand your project goals, as well as assemble and review various data, including your budget and market research.
- Determine the Best Solutions: We will identify options within the university or within the market to best meet your needs and evaluate their operational and financial viability, then acquire the appropriate approvals to move forward with negotiations.
- Project Negotiation: We will negotiate with the counter-party to obtain the best possible terms for you.
- Due Diligence: We will ensure existing conditions (e.g. survey, title, environmental state and building conditions) are acceptable to you and the university.
- Document Preparation: We will work with Purdue’s Office of Legal Counsel and other key university departments to navigate the transaction.
- Approvals and Execution: We will secure all necessary approvals of university leaders and key stakeholders and close out the transaction.
- Subject Matter Expertise: We will continue to be a valuable resource for you after your project is completed.
- On-going Project Management Support: We will be a liaison or provide project management services for the next step in your project – be it a space move, build-out or connecting you with the Capital Asset Management team.
