While work continues on several capital projects at the West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations, various travel impacts are scheduled for the summer.

The following road, sidewalk and parking restrictions will be in place during the coming months:

Sheetz Street: The northbound lane and sidewalk closures along Sheetz Street from Wood Street to Mitch Daniels Boulevard continue to facilitate construction on the Daniels School of Business facility.

As part of an ongoing utility project, the southbound lane of Sheetz Street between Wood and Harrison streets is closed with street parking unavailable. This portion of Sheetz Street is scheduled to fully reopen Aug. 8.

Additionally, a section of Wood Street east of Sheetz Street remains closed in both directions, closing the entrance to the Dauch Alumni Center parking lot.

South Russell Street: South Russell Street, just south of Mitch Daniels Boulevard, will remain closed for construction on the Life Science Ranges Phenotyping Greenhouse Building and the Nursing and Pharmacy Education Building.

Beginning Aug. 1, the road will reopen to northbound traffic only. It will remain open to northbound traffic only through December 2026 when the Nursing and Pharmacy Education Building is expected to be complete.

Tower Drive and Martin Jischke Drive: The section of Tower Drive just west of Martin Jischke Drive to west of Slayter Drive will close May 19 for reconstruction. This closure is set to last through July 10.

The section of Martin Jischke Drive from Third Street to the drive located just north of the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center will then close from July 15-29.

MacArthur Drive: As construction on a new residence hall continues, MacArthur Drive from Third to First Streets remains closed. All parking along this section of MacArthur Drive is unavailable, and alternate Residence Hall permit parking is available in the nearby McCutcheon Drive Parking Garage.

Memorial Mall: While Oval Drive around Memorial Mall remains open, motorists should continue to be aware of construction fencing for a project to renovate University Hall. Fencing also remains in place along the northside of University Hall, closing the walkway between Schleman Hall.

Additionally, fencing remains in place around the former site of Heavilon Hall. The walkways near the Brown Laboratory of Chemistry and Grissom Hall remain closed.

The project, including work at the Heavilon Hall site, is expected to be complete in July.

Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center Courtyard Plaza: The courtyard plaza between Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center will close May 19 to facilitate upgrades. The closure will last through November. The southwest entrance to the Purdue Memorial Union and east entrance to Stewart Center will also be closed during this time frame.

Amelia Earhart Terminal: Construction on the new Amelia Earhart Terminal continues. The terminal project is expected to be completed in August.

Academic Success Building in Indianapolis: A westbound lane of W. Michigan Street, located between N. West and N. California streets, is closed for construction on the Academic Success Building in Indianapolis. The closure is expected to last through April 2027. The two other westbound lanes and the eastbound lanes remain open.

Updates about construction will continue to be posted on the Construction and Travel Notices webpage.
