Three-day, virtual Road to Retirement conference to begin Wednesday for benefits-eligible employees

The fall 2022 Road to Retirement three-day virtual conference, which supports the financial wellness pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program, will begin Wednesday (Sept. 21) and runs through Friday (Sept. 23). Resources and information will be available to help employees plan for a successful retirement, no matter where they are on their retirement planning path.

Those interested can choose as many of the sessions as they’d like to attend throughout the three-day conference. Individuals should register for all the sessions they plan to attend.

The full schedule is available to view online. Presentation topics include:

  • Building your financial know-how.
  • First steps to investing.
  • HSA investing and saving for retirement.
  • Latest market happenings and navigating market volatility.
  • Learn about your workplace retirement plan – sessions specific to Purdue University, Purdue Global and Purdue Research Foundation.
  • Life insurance options in retirement.
  • Making sense of Medicare.
  • Managing unexpected events and expenses.
  • Medication management in retirement.
  • Moms and money.
  • Preserving savings for future generations.
  • Retirement plan income options.
  • Social Security planning.
  • Strategies for student loan debt.
  • Understanding retiree health plan options.
  • Understanding the difference between Roth and pretax contributions.
  • Mental health and social aspects of retirement.

Some presentations will be offered live, with others prerecorded for viewing anytime. Registration is required for live presentations. Registration links are available within the conference schedule

Faculty and staff who register and attend a live presentation will be entered into a drawing for one of several of items provided by Fidelity. Drawing items include a journal notebook with pen, portable chargers and stainless steel tumblers. The drawing will take place the week of Oct. 17. Selected winners will be contacted by email.
