Road to Retirement presentations available online

Road to Retirement, a conference held twice a year to help Purdue employees plan for retirement no matter where they find themselves on the retirement planning path, offers retirement experts and resources from a variety of organizations. Although the live virtual presentations from the spring 2022 program have ended, many presentation recordings from the spring event are now available online.

The recordings are:

  • Medication Management in Retirement – A Center for Healthy Living pharmacist reviews the best practices in medication storage, safety and use, in addition to covering important medication questions to discuss with your provider, and how to safely dispose of medications and used devices.
  • Social Connections and Community Involvement – The Purdue Fort Wayne health coach teaches how maintaining social connections and being involved in the community after retirement can improve physical health, mental health, slow cognitive decline and help individuals age better.
  • Under 65 Retiree Healthcare Options – Presenters from Purdue HR Benefits and Henriott Group discuss health insurance options offered to Purdue retirees under age 65.
  • PURA Healthcare Plans for Medicare-eligible Retirees – Purdue HR Benefits reviews group health insurance plan options available to Purdue retirees with Medicare.

Independent Study sessions as well as other past presentations continue to be available on the Road to Retirement webpage:

Human Resources is also seeking feedback on the spring 2022 Road to Retirement event as well as retirement planning in general. A brief survey is being used to gather input from benefits-eligible employees. Survey results are anonymous and will be used by HR for future Road to Retirement events to ensure retirement-planning needs are being met.
