Several construction and road projects will affect the West Lafayette campus over the next few months. In addition to campus projects, a large city of West Lafayette project also could impact travel.

The following road, sidewalk and parking restrictions will be in place during the coming months:

Dudley Hall and Lambertus Hall: As work continues on Dudley Hall and Lambertus Hall, Grant Street between Northwestern Avenue and Central Drive is scheduled to be closed through the end of August. Additionally, restrictions are in place along the southbound lanes of Northwestern Avenue, but traffic is still being maintained. The overall project is expected to be complete in September.

Marc and Sharon Hagle Hall: While work on Marc and Sharon Hagle Hall is expected to be complete in early June, some sidewalk and road restrictions are in place as construction wraps up. This includes the closure of the Third Street pedestrian corridor, just east of North Russell Street, which will last through June 4.

South Russell Street: South Russell Street, south of State Street and east of Herrick Laboratories, will be closed through mid-July for infrastructure work. Street parking along this portion is unavailable, and several adjacent sidewalks are also closed.

South University Street: Restrictions along South University Street between State Street and Agriculture Mall will be in place through mid-July for infrastructure work. Lanes are being shifted to maintain through-traffic. Street parking in this area is unavailable, but sidewalks are being maintained.

Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage: The north half of the Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage is closed through mid-August for maintenance work. The south half of the parking garage remains open.

1869 Tree Planting Master Plan: Work on the 1869 Tree Planting Master Plan is continuing this summer at Academy Park, which is located north of Stewart Center and Purdue Memorial Union. Invasive, diseased trees are being removed and replaced with new, healthy trees. Tree plantings also are planned in other areas of campus, including along State Street, Martin Jischke Drive, and near Duhme and Windsor residence halls.

In addition to these University projects, the city of West Lafayette has closed North River Road between Happy Hollow Road and Dehart Street as part of a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) project. More information is available in a news release from the city.

Additionally, the Purdue Research Foundation has ongoing construction around Airport Road/McCormick Road for Provenance in the Discovery Park District at Purdue.

Updates about construction and road projects will continue to be posted on the Physical Facilities construction and travel notices webpage.
