One to One Health, the private, physician-led company that manages the Center for Healthy Living (CHL) on the West Lafayette campus, is offering “One to One Fit,”a four-week, physical activity program. "One to One Fit" supports the physical health pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program and will meet from noon to 1 p.m. ET May 2-23.

Led by Lindsay Bloom, health coach at Purdue Fort Wayne, "One to One Fit" is designed to establish a baseline fitness level and equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to safely take their fitness game to the next level. The program takes place via virtual group sessions, which include both an educational and active component, and is formatted as follows:

  • Getting Started and Goal Setting.
  • Safety Considerations and Cardiovascular Training.
  • Resistance Training and Gym Etiquette.
  • Flexibility Training and Putting it All Together.

“Whether you are brand new to fitness, a seasoned exerciser or anywhere in between, 'One-to-One Fit' is good for you,” Bloom says. “We’ll explore the three types of exercise – aerobic, resistance training and flexibility – and how individuals can use them to make the most of their unique fitness needs and wants.”

The program is open to benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan (all fitness levels welcome), with a focus on those:

  • With goals of weight loss, increased energy, better sleep and stress management.
  • Seeking support for goals and behavior change around physical activity.

Interested individuals should register by April 18 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. The registration link can be found under the “Healthy Boiler Workshops” section on the portal’s homepage. Hover over the program’s square and hit “Submit” to register.

Healthy Boiler workshops, lifestyle programs, physical activity programs, etc. are free to all benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan.
