All faculty and staff (excludes students and graduate staff) on Purdue’s West Lafayette, Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses are strongly encouraged to actively enroll for 2020 benefits by 6 p.m. ET Tuesday (Nov. 12). Some benefits require the employee to provide additional information, such as tobacco user certification and spousal coverage.

Employees who enrolled before Friday (Nov. 8) are asked to review their saved or printed benefit summary statement carefully, and perhaps log back into the system to review their statement. Human Resources was notified of an issue with the Benefitfocus tool, which affected some employees regarding their responses to the survey questions (tobacco usage and working spouse). Some employees’ summary statements did not display the correct rate, even though the system recorded the correct amount. This issue has been fixed; however, all employees who enrolled before Friday should double check their statements to ensure what they chose is reflected correctly.

To access Benefitfocus and the “Employee Summary Report,” use the “Benefits Open Enrollment for Faculty & Staff” icon on the OneCampus portal.  Click on the gold box on the right-hand side of the welcome page “To Enroll, Make a Change and View Your Benefits.” The “Employee Summary Report” is located in the left side navigation (see image at right).

Employees have several tools and resources available to help through the enrollment process, and they should remember that heavy usage on the enrollment site could cause delays. Be sure to plan ahead and allow enough time to complete and submit enrollment by 6 p.m. ET Tuesday. No changes to benefits can be made after that time unless there is a qualifying life event (change in family status).
