Significant progress was made on a number of new construction and renovation projects on the West Lafayette campus over the summer. In addition, some interior and exterior maintenance and repair work was completed.

Several projects will continue into the fall semester with minimal effects on the campus community. Those with pedestrian and vehicular restrictions or closures are summarized below.

* Agricultural and Biological Engineering renovation and addition – Parking and travel impacts are in effect on Agricultural Mall, University Street and Clinic Drive through December 2020.

* Jischke Hall of Biomedical Engineering renovation and addition – Nearby sidewalks are restricted through August, when the project will be complete.

* Meredith South residence hall – Sidewalk and partial Martin Jischke Drive closures are present through August 2020.

* Purdue Memorial Union/Purdue Memorial Union Club  – Sidewalk restrictions are in place along Grant Street through summer 2020, and access to Purdue Memorial Union has been rerouted.

* STEM Teaching Lab Building – Pedestrian access is unavailable from Schleman Hall of Student Services to Elliott Hall of Music through next spring.

* Third Street North residence hall – Parking and sidewalk closures and Russell Street lane restrictions are effective through next fall.

Looking ahead, preparations for the new Engineering and Polytechnic Gateway building will begin in mid-October with sidewalk and vehicular restrictions near Nuclear Engineering and Michael Golden Engineering Laboratories and Shops, the future site of the facility.

Sidewalk, street and parking restrictions may be present throughout the month of August in the area just east of campus between State and Williams streets and South River Road and Chauncey Avenue as the construction of several private apartment complexes is completed.

Additional information, impact maps and project updates are provided on the Physical Facilities construction and travel notices webpage.
