Central Drive, nearby sidewalk closures to begin later this fall

Preparations for construction of the new Engineering and Polytechnic Gateway building will begin in mid-October with the temporary removal of pedestrian access in the area south of the Electrical Engineering Building and north of Michael Golden Engineering Laboratories and Shops (MGL) through mid-November.

From mid-November through the project’s completion in September 2022, Central Drive and adjacent sidewalks will be closed between the Wilmeth Active Learning Center and Grant Street and the area between POTR and MGL will be closed. Access to the Grissom Hall and Brown Laboratory of Chemistry docks will be maintained.

Pedestrian access to MGL and the Nuclear Engineering Building will be maintained from the north for the fall 2019 semester.

Nearby demolition and construction activities are expected to begin in earnest in February 2020.
