Monday to bring heightened construction and motorist, pedestrian restrictions to West Lafayette campus

The number of maintenance, renovation and construction projects will increase on the West Lafayette campus as of Monday (May 13) in addition to the ongoing construction of several new facilities. As a result of these projects, the following travel restrictions will be in place:
* Agricultural and Biological Engineering – Parking along Clinic Drive and South University Street north of Harrison Street remains affected. Part of the sidewalk north of the Drug Discovery Research Facility will be restricted through mid-August.
* Jischke Hall of Biomedical Engineering renovation and addition – The sidewalk south of the facility will continue to be closed through August.
* Meredith South Residence Hall – North Martin Jischke Drive remains closed between First and Third streets, and adjacent parking is unavailable in order to accommodate ongoing construction work.
* Parking garage closures – The entire Hawkins Hall Parking Garage is closed for the summer, and the south half of the University Street Parking Garage will be closed in phases for maintenance work.
* Stadium Mall – Shifting sidewalk restrictions on the east side of Stadium Mall will be in place through July.
* STEM Teaching Lab Building – Additional sidewalk closures will be implemented east of the existing construction fence for continued construction of the new facility.
* Third Street North Residence Hall – Russell Street continues to be restricted between Third and Fifth streets, along with sidewalk and parking restrictions in the area.
* Third Street restrictions – Intermittent lane restrictions will be in effect for the rest of May between North Martin Jischke Drive and North University Street.
* U.S. 231 and South Martin Jischke Drive – For approximately the next month, lane restrictions and changing traffic patterns will be present along U.S. 231 from Airport Road to South River Road.
In addition, Tippecanoe County will close a section of North River Road for the duration of summer, and lane restrictions for both directions of traffic on U.S. 231 between State Street and Lindberg Road will continue to be present while the City of West Lafayette completes work in the area.
