Healthy eating, saving money are combination for upcoming Center for Healthy Living workshop
Megan Shidler, registered dietitian at the Center for Healthy Living on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus, will present “Eating Healthy on a Budget” on March 6 to explain how eating well doesn’t have to break the bank.
The workshop will provide attendees with tips and tricks on how to save money on grocery bills while also maximizing the quality of the food choices purchased, as well as information on how to stock their kitchens and which foods will provide the most nutritional bang for their buck.
“This is a fun workshop to lead,” Shidler says. “Helping people increase the number of healthy foods in their lives while also sharing how to do so cost-effectively is a win-win. Attendees will leave class with a grocery shopping strategy, money-saving recipes, a grocery list of ideas and possibly even some staple food items to take home.”
The workshop will take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. March 6 in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 230. Those interested in attending should register by March 5 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. Registration link can be found under “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage.
Workshops provided by the Center for Healthy Living are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan. For more information, contact the center at 765-494-0111.
