Various travel and parking impacts are expected throughout the summer as construction continues on several capital projects and additional projects begin in both West Lafayette and Indianapolis.

The following road, sidewalk and parking restrictions will be in place during the coming months:

Mitch Daniels School of Business: The northbound lane and sidewalk closures along Sheetz Street from Wood Street to Mitch Daniels Boulevard will remain in place to facilitate construction on the new Daniels School of Business facility. Additionally, the construction fence on the north side of the project will be extended to close the sidewalk and bus drop-off lane on the south side of Mitch Daniels Boulevard from Sheetz Street to the north entrance of Krannert Building.

Nursing and Pharmacy Education Building: Southbound South Russell Street, just south of Mitch Daniels Boulevard, will remain closed for construction on the new Nursing and Pharmacy Education Building this summer. South Russell Street will remain open to northbound traffic through December when the project is expected to be complete.

South Hall and MacArthur Drive: MacArthur Drive from Mitch Daniels Boulevard to Third Street will remain closed this summer as progress on two projects continue. MacArthur Drive from First Street to Third Street has been closed due to the construction of South Hall. MacArthur Drive from Mitch Daniels Boulevard to First Street closed in March to facilitate repairs. These closures are expected to remain in place until early August.

Wood Street Parking Garage: The Wood Street Parking Garage will be closed from May 18 through early August to facilitate repair work. Some alternative A permit, reserve permit, university vehicle and Americans with Disabilities Act permit parking will be available in the nearby Grant Street Parking Garage (garage access card required), Pierce Street parking lot (A permits will be accepted in signed spaces beginning May 18) or Dauch Alumni Center parking lot. Additional locations are identified on the West Lafayette Campus Parking Map.

Hicks Undergraduate Library: The sidewalks surrounding Hicks Undergraduate Library will be closed in phases this summer to facilitate masonry work. These sidewalk closures will be in place until early August. Additionally, library entrances will be closed in phases to facilitate the work. Two entrances will always remain open while work is underway.

Academic Success Building in Indianapolis: Indiana Avenue from North West Street to North Blackford Street will close May 18-23 to facilitate new water connections for the Academic Success Building. Additionally, the westbound lanes of West Michigan Street will be closed May 26-30 from North West Street to North Blackford Street.

Some additional roads will also be closed in West Lafayette to facilitate repair work, including Beering Drive, Tiller Drive and Nimitz Drive.

Other projects that may also cause travel or parking impacts this summer will be occurring in the areas of the Armory and Elliott Hall of Music and along Third Street, just west of North Martin Jischke Drive.

Additionally, landscaping work will be underway near the Class of 1939 Water Sculpture, known informally as the Engineering Fountain, at the Purdue Mall.
