This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Purdue Today’s “Thumbs Up” series gives faculty and staff members the opportunity to recognize, thank and congratulate others for their outstanding service, support and performance across the Purdue system. This week’s “Thumbs Up” recipients are:

Holly Patacsil

I’d like to give Holly (Purdue Conferences) a big shout-out for going above and beyond for an event I recently had. She jumped up at every opportunity to help both me and my client. She was a huge help, and I couldn’t have done it without her! — Grace Allender (Purdue Conferences)

Mason Guy

I want to recognize Mason (IT End User Experience) for the excellent support he provided in resolving my Microsoft 365 issue. From start to finish, Mason was professional, responsive and easy to work with. He took the time to understand the problem, communicated clearly throughout the process and resolved the issue quickly. He also helped the entire team, and his knowledge, patience and commitment to customer service made a potentially frustrating situation seamless and efficient. It was a wonderful experience, and I greatly appreciate his efforts. I’d like to thank Jan (Operations and Maintenance) for taking the time out of his busy schedule to instruct aerial lift training for our central shops teams. Rita Hurst

We would like to recognize Rita (Building Services) for the outstanding job she does every day. Rita takes great pride in her work, and it shows in everything she does. She genuinely cares about keeping our building clean and making it a place where people enjoy coming to work. The building doesn’t look this good by chance — it reflects Rita’s dedication, attention to detail and commitment to doing her job well. Her efforts make a positive difference for everyone who works here. We truly appreciate Rita’s positive attitude and the pride she takes in her work. Leslie Charters

Thumbs-up to Leslie, director of Student Legal Services, for her outstanding guidance and support during our dispute over an unexpected apartment move-out charge. As international graduate students unfamiliar with the rental and legal processes, we felt overwhelmed and anxious about how to respond. Leslie carefully reviewed the situation, clearly explained our options and provided practical, professional advice throughout the process. With her support, we successfully disputed the charge and had it removed from our final bill. Her patience, expertise and genuine care made a tremendous difference during a stressful experience.
