Coming Out Resources

ANNOUNCEMENT (Posted 12/3/2019):

Winter break housing is available for students currently living on campus. The cost is $500 and the deadline to sign up is December 16th.

If you are planning to stay on campus during winter break but need financial assistance to cover a portion of the cost or the full cost, you can speak with an LGBTQ Center staff member about your options either by visiting the LGBTQ Center or sending an email to LGBTQ@purdue.edu to schedule an appointment. Visit University Residence's Winter Housing page for more information and to access the application form.

If you are considering coming out to your loved ones and friends

When possible, it is best to think through the process of coming out and create a plan before coming out. Always prioritize your safety and security above all else. You can speak with a staff member of the LGBTQ Center who can help you build a plan for coming out. If you would like to meet with a staff member, you can 1) stop by SCHL 230 Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, email LGBTQ@purdue.edu, or call 765-496-6231 for a drop-in appointment or to schedule a meeting.

If you experience a crisis related to coming out, there are a number of resources you can access. Learn more
