More Direction from Purdue Administration regarding Classes, Commencement, Housing
Please read the following letters from Purdue University administration, including President Daniels, Provost Akridge, Vice Provost McCuskey.
- Purdue classes will be delivered by remote instruction for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.
- Traditional in-person commencement is canceled. Details on an alternative virtual celebration will be posted soon.
- Students are strongly encouraged to vacate residence halls by March 30, 2020.
The LGBTQ Center will remain closed until further guidance from administrators. Staff and services remain available via phone, email, teleconferencing, and social media. LGBTQ Center Closed to Visitors, Services and Staff Remain Available via Phone, Email, or Video Conference
Following the COVID-19 Update from Provost Akridge and Chris Ruhl on March 15th, the LGBTQ Center is instituting and practicing social distancing measures at this time. Our Center location in Schleman Hall is closed, but our staff remain available via phone, email, teleconferencing, and social media.

LGBTQ Center Closed to Visitors During Spring Break, Services and Staff Remain Available via Phone, Email, or Video Conference
Following the COVID-19 Update from Provost Akridge yesterday, the LGBTQ Center will be closed to visitors starting Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, March 20, 2020. We will await further guidance from the University with the hope that we return to normal operations as soon as possible.

LGBTQ Center To Remain Open with Normal Hours and Services, Some Modified Operations
Following the COVID-19 Update from President Daniels and Provost Akridge yesterday, the LGBTQ Center has suspended all programs scheduled on or after March 16, 2020, until the university returns to regular operations. Suspended programs include Safe Zone and Trans Inclusion trainings, Fabulous Fridays, Wellness Wednesdays, Game Nights, and all other minor and major programs.
LGBTQ Center Programs and Events for the Week of March 9th
- Wellness Wednesday Peer Support Group scheduled for March 11th at 4:30pm will still meet at the LGBTQ Center.
- Fabulous Friday, scheduled for March 13th from 11:00am - 4:00pm, will still occur and all are welcome.
We are exploring the possibility of rescheduling Lavender Graduation and the LGBTQ Awards Ceremony, and we appreciate your patience as we do so. We will continue to update graduates and attendees as more information becomes available. We encourage anyone graduating in May, August, or December 2020 to register to participate in Lavender Graduation. If we are unable to hold the ceremony, we still want to acknowledge each graduate and ensure they receive a certificate and rainbow stole to celebrate their achievement.
LGBTQ Center Services
We are exploring online platforms for students to access tutoring services when they are away from campus. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Interviews and Tours for Cultural Immersion Projects
LGBTQ Center staff will remain available for interviews for students completing a cultural immersion project or similar assignment. Interviews can be provided online via a video conferencing service. Students can schedule interviews for cultural immersion projects using the LGBTQ Center's online appointment system. Information regarding video conferencing is forthcoming.
Accessing the LGBTQ Center While Away from Campus
Students who will be away from campus or who may need to avoid public gathering spaces will be able to access LGBTQ Center staff and resources via phone (765-496-6231), email (firstname.lastname@example.org), and video conferencing. Information regarding video conferencing is forthcoming.
