Visiting the LGBTQ Center

Students, staff, faculty, and community members can visit the LGBTQ Center any time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. 

Meetings, Tours, and Space Requests

LGBTQ Center staff members are available to discuss LGBTQIA+ issues and consult on a variety of topics with students, staff, faculty, and community members. Staff members have a wide range of expertise and connections to a myriad of campus, local, state, and national resources to which they can make referrals as needed.

Visitors can meet face-to-face with a staff member or meet via Zoom.

Prospective Students

The LGBTQ Center frequently hosts prospective students and their parents who are interested in learning more about LGBTQIA+ life at Purdue, services for students, and involvement opportunities. During the academic year, current students who spend time at the LGBTQ Center are available to meet with prospective students as well.

Individuals and Small Groups (5 or less people)

The LGBTQ Center provides both scheduled and walk-in tours for visitors to the LGBTQ Center.

Walk-in tours can take place Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

Visitors are encouraged to schedule a tour in advance as staff availability to lead tours is limited during the academic year.

Request a Tour or Interview

Tours and interviews typically last no more than 30 minutes, but can be shorter depending on the requirements of the assignment.

Arrange a Visit to the LGBTQ Center for a Class or Large Group (More than 5 people)

The LGBTQ Center enjoys hosting tours and class sessions for larger groups. Groups of five or more people should schedule a visit by clicking the button below to complete the online request form.

Cultural Immersion Projects

LGBTQ Center staff regularly assist students who are completing cultural immersion projects and similar course assignments.

Send an email to LGBTQ@purdue.edu to schedule a meeting with a staff member.

The LGBTQ Center is able to host after hours events! We have three available spaces for reservation in the evenings on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-8 pm. The Center can host up to 30 people in our largest space.

Please allow 3-5 business days for a response from our staff. Your event is not confirmed until you hear from LGBTQ Center staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! People of all identities are welcome in the LGBTQ Center and no staff member will ask how you identify.

Visitors are not required to make an appointment to spend time in the LGBTQ Center or speak with a staff member. Staff members have an open-door policy and are typically available for drop-in appointments. However, if the matter is urgent, it may be best to make an appointment to guarantee  a meeting with a staff member. Staff availability may be limited during the busiest times of the semester, but all efforts will be made to meet.

The LGBTQ Center provides community space for students to socialize, study and do homework, and find supportive resources.
