Turfgrass Science


The 2022 Purdue Turf and Landscape Field Day will be on Tuesday, July 26, at the Daniel Turf Center.  HLA Participants include Aaron Patton, Kyle Daniel, Ashley Breed, Cale Bigelow, Jada Powlen, Glenn Hardebeck, Ben Royal, Brandon McNally, Vera Vukovic, and Amanda Folck.





Cale Bigelow weighed in on a question in the Indianapolis Star about turfgrass replacement that is dog friendly and low or no mow: Scrub Hub: Is there a good turf grass replacement that’s pet-friendly and low- or no-mow?

Registration has opened for the 2022 VIRTUAL (On-demand) Indiana Green Expo Program, which runs from March 18-May 31, 2022. Information and registration page is at https://www.mrtf.org/event/on-demand-2022-indiana-green-expo/?event_date=2022-03-21. CCHs may be earned during the virtual program.  


Last Thursday we had 18 of our turf science students compete in the Golf Course Superintendents Association (GCSAA) Collegiate Turf Quiz Bowl Challenge.
