- Sidewalk Interuptions Around Marriott Building
Landscape construction will be occurring around the new Marriott building through the end of this month. Sidewalks will have intermittent interruptions, and pedestrians need to use caution while walking in this area. Any questions can be directed to Phil Richey, Grounds Supervisor, at 4-3089 or prichey@purdue.edu. - Lane Restrictions on State St. (S.R. 26)
Milestone contractors are working to patch and resurface areas of State Street (S.R. 26). The project starts three tenths of a mile west of State Road 526 to just under one half mile east of US 231 in West Lafayette. Crews will restrict the right lane of westbound traffic on S.R. 26 from Northwestern Avenue to Marsteller Street. This restriction will last seven to ten days. Weather permitting, crews will then move into the eastbound lanes to begin patching. They will suspend work over the winter and begin construction again on or after April 1, 2012. The project is scheduled for completion on August 4, 2012. To avoid long traffic delays, please use an alternate route through the Chauncey Village area if possible. -
Update to Harrison Street Construction Project
Drivers are asked to use caution around the Harrison St. construction project. Please be aware of the following changes:- All vehicles traveling north and south on Russell St. are expected to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Harrison St. Construction traffic will be traveling east and west along Harrison St. Traffic signs are to be obeyed.
- Harrison St. is now closed from the intersection of Martin Jischke Dr. and Nimitz Dr. to the west side of S. Russell St. and will remain closed through the duration of the Harrison St. construction project.
- A temporary traffic diversion is being put in place to allow work to be done on the roundabout at the intersection of Harrison St., Martin Jischke Dr. and Nimitz Dr. The diversion will direct drivers from the south side of the police station west through the parking lot to Gates St. This pattern will be in place by the evening of Saturday, October 29 and will remain in place until the completion of the roundabout.
- When traveling around the Harrison Road project, carts and mowers are to use the following path: the gravel road that runs east and west along the KBS railroad track, this road is commonly called the Coal Haul Road, and the gravel road that runs north and south up to the Veterinary Complex, this road does not have an official name. This route is only to be used by carts, mowers and Veterinary School traffic. In order to maintain a sufficient safety zone while loading and unloading Veterinary School large animals, all other traffic is required to use S. Russell Dr. to travel to and from campus.
