Academy Park Restoration Work
Until the start of the fall semester, limestone restoration work will take place in Academy Park near Wetherill. Various pathways may be closed at times. Please use caution in the area
- Discovery Learning Center
Construction traffic has increased in Discovery Park for construction of the Discovery Learning Center. Please use caution near Jischke Dr., Nimitz Dr., and Gates Road. Expected completion is October 2009.
Some sidewalks have been removed for utility work. Please use caution.
The "A" permit parking spaces along the west side of Martin Jischke Dr., south of the entrance to the Purdue Police Department, are posted as no parking. These spaces are closed for visual safety reasons during the construction of the Discovery Learning Center as well as the Hockmeyer Hall and the Harrison Duct Bank projects.

- First Street Towers
First Street Towers (the Replacement Student Housing Project), located at the corner of MacArthur Drive and First Street, is in progress. The project is expected to be completed in July 2009.
- Gatewood Wing Addition to Mechanical Engineering
Fencing around the Gatewood Wing Addition to Mechanical Engineering has been installed causing major changes in walk and traffic patterns.
The "Y" intersection from Third Street near Elliott Hall of Music now has 3-way stop signs permanently installed.
During the Gatewood construction, parking on the inner and outer circle at Elliott Hall of Music have changed from perpendicular to parallel parking. Signage indicates these parking changes.
The construction traffic entrance to the site has returned to the original planned route from State Street through Centennial Mall.
Concrete barriers have been placed to divide the traffic route from the pedestrian route. Pedestrians are asked to use the west side of the mall (near Stanley Coulter). [Please note: All golf carts are restricted from using the pedestrian route as well as the construction vehicle route. Please use alternative routes to reach your destination.] Construction vehicles are limited to the east side (near Wetherill).
Additional signage has been posted along both the pedestrian and traffic routes. Please use caution near the construction area.

- begin layout for the footers against the ME building

- Hawkins Roof Project - Drive and sidewalk closures
The west half of the U-shaped drive and sidewalk at the main entrance is blocked for a roofing project. The entrance to the building will be open at all times.

- High Voltage Improvement Project
The High Voltage Improvement Project will affect several areas of campus this fall. For more details, please visit this site.
- Hockmeyer Hall of Structural Biology
Construction of the Wayne T. and Mary T. Hockmeyer Hall of Structural Biology is in progress. The two-year project will have construction traffic entering onto Harrison Street between South Russell Street and Martin Jischke Drive.
- Hovde Tunnel Top
Crews will be completing restoration work to the underground utility tunnel between Hovde Hall (east side) and the Purdue Mall Fountain (Class of 1939 Water Sculpture) throughout the coming year.
Please do not operate motorized vehicles (including club cars and scooters) in this area. Four planters have been placed in this area to help prevent motorized vehicle activity.

- Mackey Arena Complex Project
Fencing is in place around Mackey Arena (see red outline on attached map). causing the sidewalks to close along the west side of Northwestern Avenue and the east side of University Street. These sidewalk closures will be in place through November 1. During this time, pedestrians will be able to use a walkway located just north of the Lambert Fieldhouse (see the blue line on the attached map).

- North Power Plant
Selected areas around the North Power Plant have been fenced as a safety precaution due to exterior masonry concerns of the building.
Fencing has been installed in the parking lot along the east side of the power plant approximately 20 feet from the building. No parking or pedestrian access will be allowed along the east facade or the south side of the building. Parking in the east lot will still be available outside the fenced perimeter. The east-west pedestrian corridor immediately south of the power plant will be closed. East-west pedestrian traffic may continue along the sidewalk north of Wetherill. The east entrance into the Convocations area will be closed. The west entrance into Convocations will remain open as well as the south entrance into ENAD.

Stewart Center North Entrance
Until the start of the fall semester, the north entrance into Stewart Center will be closed due to upgrades for an ADA ramp and access door.
- Young Hall Recladding Project
Fencing has been installed along the west side of the building. One row of parking spaces is eliminated while this phase of the project is being completed. Access will be available to the loading dock. The fence will be moved around the building as phases are completed.
Two remodeling projects in Krannert are adjacent to this project. Project staff will utilize the entrance to the parking deck at Young.
A portion of the southwest corner of the parking lot will be closed until the entire project is completed (August 2009). This area will serve as the contractor staging area. For questions or concerns about this project, please contact Chris Skiba at 49-62308 or ceskiba@purdue.edu.

Parking Lots, Garages, and Sidewalks:
- TERY Parking Lot
The gravel parking lot (A lot) on the west end of the Purdue Police Department has closed for construction. The lot is estimated to reopen in mid-October. The sidewalk on the east side of Gates Road is also closed from Nimitz to the gravel parking lot described above.

- Mackey Project
The following parking lots are closed for the Mackey Arena project.
-"P" Lot (triangular lot to the west of MACK) This lot is expected to reopen August 1, 2009.
- "G" Lot (between MACK/LAMB) - This lot is expected to reopen with lot modifications on November 1, 2009.
-"J" Lot (east of MACK) This lot will not reopen.
-"F" Lot (east of IAF) Only a small section on the north end of this lot will close.
- The "H" parking lot (north of Mollenkopf) is closed through the end of August 2009.

- Summer Parking Garage Cleaning
Building Services will be cleaning the garages at night from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
July 5 - July 20 [Northwestern Street Garage (north half)]
July 21- July 26 (Marsteller Street Garage)
July 27- August 6 (Grant Street Garage)
Please Note:
- The Grant Street Garage will remain open. It will be cleaned one half at a time starting with the top three levels.
- The south half of the Northwestern Street Garage will be closed May 18 th through August 2 nd for major repairs and cleaned by the contractor. The north half will be two-way traffic.
- Building Services may need to adjust the starting and stopping dates for each garage, based on weather, resources, and equipment. Changes to the schedule will be communicated to all.

Wood Street Parking Garage
A section of the top level of the Wood Street Parking Garage is closed through July 8. The entire top level of the garage will be closed on Tuesday, July 7. For questions or concerns, please contact Holly Alexander at 49-49315 or haalexander@purdue.edu.
- Sidwalk Closure West of Armory
Effective Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9, a section of the sidewalk west of the Armory will be closed due to landscape work.
- Sidewalk Closure to the east of Brown
Effective now until the start of the fall semester, the sidewalk on the east side of Brown Lab of Chemistry will be closed.

Central Drive
Central Drive (north of ENAD) is closed. The sidewalk north of ENAD is open.
- First Street (Between Jischke Drive and Russell Drive)
First Street between Jischke Drive and Russell Drive has closed until August, 2009 for the Duhme Hall Remodel Project. The Windsor Woods parking loop will not be available for thru traffic. Harrison, State, Grant, and Sheetz Streets
Duke Energy is in the process of relocating a section of aerial high voltage power lines that run along Harrison Street in front of the new Hockmeyer Hall of Structural Biology and Discovery Learning Center buildings. In addition to Harrison Street, utility work will also take place on State, Grant, and Sheetz Streets.
Flag persons and road disruptions may be present throughout the duration of this project. Please use caution in the area.

The base of the Boilermaker statue, located on N. University Drive north of IAF, is having granite cladding installed. The adjacent sidewalk will be closed until further notice. Fencing will be installed and signage will be posted. Please use caution in the area.

- South Russell Drive
A site clearing and site preparation project has begun. Increased construction traffic will be entering off South Russell just to the west of the Materials Management and Distribution building. Off Campus Road Disruptions

Closure of Southbound off ramp on I-65 at SR 43
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced the closure of the southbound off ramp on I-65 at State Road 43 (S.R. 43). This closure will allow crews to begin reconstructing the off ramp. The ramp will be closed up to three weeks and will reopen by July 13, 2009. The detour follows State Road 18 East to S.R. 43 southbound.

SR 26 West Closure (between CR 500 W and CR 300 W - Klondike Rd.)
SR 26 west of West Lafayette (between CR 500 W and CR 300 W - Klondike Rd.) will close July 6 and be closed until late fall for a sight distance improvement project at both intersections.
-- Vehicles traveling north on CR 400 W will be able to cross SR 26 towards Lindberg Rd. and US 52.
--Vehicles traveling southeast on Jackson Hwy. will be able to turn to the east on Lindberg Rd.
-- Both intersections (500W & SR26 and 300W & SR26) will be closed.
-- Access will be provided to all homeowners who live along the SR 26 closure.
-- The official INDOT detour is SR 26 W to SR 526 N (McCormick Rd.) to SR 126 E. (Cherry Lane) to US 231 N to US 52 W to SR 352 W to SR 55 S and then back to SR 26. Eastbound SR 26 traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.

City of West Lafayette Western Interceptor Sewer Pipe Project - Phase 3
The City of West Lafayette has begun Phase 3 of the Western Interceptor Sewer Pipe Project. Information will be shared as the project travels through campus and along South River Road. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by September 2009.
The contractor is expected to begin working in the PFSB south gravel lot next week (week of July 6). At various times this month, the southern half of the parking lot will be disrupted. A new temporary parking area will be added to the gravel drive that leads to Refuse and Recycling.
