WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — To celebrate Purdue Day of Giving on Wednesday (April 25), “America’s Fakest News Team” from Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” will take the stage with a free comedy show at Purdue University’s Elliott Hall of Music.

The show, which is open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. While the event is free, attendees can secure priority seating at Purdue.edu/comedy before noon Wednesday.

Headlining the show are:

“Daily Show” writer David Angelo, whose Comedy Central digital series “Nothin’s Easy” is in its second season.

Michael Kosta, a stand-up comedian and “Daily Show” correspondent. He was host and co-executive producer of “The Comment Section” for E! and co-host on Fox Sports 1’s “Crowd Goes Wild.”

Aasif Mandvi, a Peabody Award winner known for his work as a correspondent on “The Daily Show.” He can next be seen alongside Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek in the upcoming film “Drunk Parents.”

“The comedy show is designed to celebrate Purdue Day of Giving and to thank the entire Purdue family and community for supporting the university,” said Kate Jolly, director of digital fundraising and Purdue Day of Giving project manager for the University Development Office.

“Make Your Mark” is the theme of this year's Purdue Day of Giving, a 24-hour online, social media-driven fundraising effort that invites faculty, staff, retirees, students, alumni, parents and friends to come together to grant opportunities.

Participation by Purdue staff members, faculty members, retirees, and students in Purdue Day of Giving counts toward the “Ever True: Campus Campaign,” which launched with Purdue Day of Giving last year as part of the university’s overarching “Ever True” campaign. “Ever True” extends through 2019, the 150th anniversary year of Purdue’s founding.

A complete list of the day's activities is available at Giving.Purdue.edu/PDOGEvents.
