Sarah Bauer, data governance program manager for Purdue University’s Institutional Data Analytics + Assessment (IDA+A) office, has been recognized by the Indiana Association for Institutional Research.

Known as INAIR, the professional organization works to promote institutional research in education, provide a forum for institutional researchers to discuss and seek assistance in their work, and promote professional development for their members.

Bauer won the Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors members who have made significant contributions to the field of institutional research and the professional development of INAIR members and colleagues. The award was announced at the 38th annual INAIR annual conference on March 21 in Bloomington.

“Throughout her career, Sarah has dedicated herself to the institutional research community in Indiana, contributing significantly to its growth,” said Molly Amstutz, senior director of IDA+A. “She’s not only excelled in her professional endeavors but also shares her knowledge generously, acting as a source of guidance for many within INAIR.”

Bauer’s Purdue career spans over 38 years and includes roles in the offices of Enrollment Management, Institutional Research and most recently Data Governance.

“What an honor to be recognized by my INAIR colleagues,” Bauer said. “I joined this organization early in my Purdue career, and I have benefitted from the collective knowledge of this group of higher education professionals. It is rewarding to know that my contributions were noted and appreciated.”

Added Amstutz: “I am thrilled for Sarah to receive this well-deserved honor for her contributions to institutional research. She has been an outstanding mentor to me, her colleagues, and our student workers over the years, and I’m proud to celebrate this significant milestone in her career.”

IDA+A is Purdue’s central data office, housed within the Office of the Provost. More information about the department and their projects is available on the IDA+A website.
