Clinical Services

The Purdue University Pharmacy offers several clinical services for your convenience. Please call 765-494-1374 for additional information regarding any of the following:

Birth Control Services

  • Specially trained pharmacist available for birth control services, which includes prescribing and refilling birth control, providing immunizations, and providing emergency contraception.
  • Options include birth control pills, patches, vaginal rings, depot injections, and diaphragms.
  • Consultation fee for this visit is $45 (medication costs are not included, but covered under most insurance plans).

Immunizations

  • Get your required vaccinations, such as MMR, meningococcal B, and Tdap at no cost. *
  • Routine vaccinations are also offered at the pharmacy. These include**:
    • Varivax (varicella or chicken pox)
    • Gardasil 9 (HPV)
    • Shingrix (shingles)
    • Annual flu vaccine
    • Havrix (Hepatitis A)
    • Twinrix (Hepatitis A &B)
    • Rabies (Imovax or Rabavert)

*Covered under most pharmacy insurance plans. The Purdue University Pharmacy is a Vaccines for Children (VFC) provider. This federally funded program covers ACIP-recommended vaccines to students less than 19 years of age that are uninsured or underinsured.

Injectable Medication Administration Services

  • Injectable medications, such as Depo-Provera (medroxyprogesterone), may be administered at the pharmacy for $15.

Smoking/Vaping Cessation

  • Specially trained pharmacists available to help you quit smoking or vaping.
  • When necessary to successfully quit, prescription medications provided by pharmacist during individual consultation.

Travel Health Service

  • Provided to help you stay healthy during planned travel outside the U.S.
  • Appointments available with a specially trained pharmacist for preventative medications and necessary immunizations.
  • Consultation, immunizations and all prescriptions may be provided in one visit.

Convenient Prescription Options

We make the process as easy as possible.

Prescriptions may be:

  • taken directly to the Purdue University Pharmacy.
  • phoned in by the prescriber.
  • sent electronically from a healthcare provider's office.
  • transferred from another pharmacy.
  • refilled through our mobile app (Rx Local).

We can special order most medications and have them in stock the next day.

Convenient Payment Options

  • We are a preferred provider for the United Healthcare Student Resources insurance program, which means you will have lower copays at the Purdue University Pharmacy than at most other retail pharmacy settings.
  • We accept most major prescription drug plans.
  • We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), and most FSA/HSA cards.
