Generate Impact
Books enhance our scholarly understanding and generate impact both inside and outside the academy. They serve to summarize long-term research contributions, introduce innovative insights into quickly evolving areas, and crystallize years of teaching experience into a mature course design. Open access publishing also reduces textbook costs for our students — further advancing our commitment to affordability.
about books Initiative
Book preparation and publishing requires significant time and effort; the Purdue University Books Initiative is designed to address this by providing robust support for authors by way of substantive overload payments alongside individualized “concierge service” support in book design, editing, and production. Purdue community members can learn more about this initiative by logging in here.
Individuals who would like to learn more about the Purdue University Books Initiative should contact Cristina Farmus, vice president for special projects, at cfarmus@purdue.edu.

In Print at the Library
In Print at the Library
The Purdue University Books Initiative and the West Lafayette Public Library are partnering to present “In Print at the Library,” a new monthly book talk series that celebrates the scholarship, creativity, and storytelling of Purdue authors.
Held at the West Lafayette Public Library, the free, public events will feature conversations with Purdue authors about their recently published books, research journeys, and ideas shaping their work. Each session will include an author talk followed by an audience Q&A, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage directly with our community’s scholars.
