Restart computer today; revert Java software for Kronos access
All staff should restart their computers and ensure they are connected to the network before the end of their assigned shift today (Aug. 3) so software adjustments can be made over the weekend.
An issue with the Java upgrade that was deployed during the overnight maintenance window is preventing users from accessing Kronos. As a temporary solution, the current version of Java needs to be uninstalled from each machine and replaced with the prior version.
Individuals who need to approve timecards in Kronos prior to Monday can complete the software process manually using the following steps:
- Close all internet browsers – the software will not install correctly with open browsers
- Search "Software Center" on your machine
- On the "Available Software" tab, check the box next to "Central Oracle Java Runtime 8.0.172"
- Click "Install"
- After the installation is complete, you may be required to restart your computer before being able to access Kronos again
