The team is responsible for strategic leadership for Purdue\u2019s capital program and public safety services in support of the university\u2019s learning, discovery and engagement mission. Physical Facilities functions include identifying, prioritizing and delivering the capital program and related services, including campus planning, facilities management, asset management, construction and project delivery. Public Safety functions include police, fire and emergency preparedness to ensure the safety and security of the entire campus community. He is accountable for developing, implementing and successfully delivering services and projects that position Purdue as a safe and secure university of choice for education, research and employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:20px\">Jay received both a bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and his master\u2019s of business administration from Purdue Global. He is a registered professional engineer in Indiana. Before joining Purdue in December 2015, he spent more than 21 years at the Indiana Department of Transportation, where he rose to deputy commissioner for Engineering and Asset Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:20px\">Outside of his professional responsibilities, Jay enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in hobbies such as reading, cycling, photography, and travel.
