Put safety into action during Safe + Sound Week 2026
Safe + Sound Week is coming up Sept. 21–25! Purdue will join organizations nationwide in recognizing workplace safety and health programs while providing resources and activities that help businesses and employees strengthen their safety culture.
At Purdue, employees can participate in a variety of engaging activities, including games, trivia, safety challenges and other opportunities designed to encourage safety awareness and teamwork. Activities are team-based, so gather your colleagues and get ready to put safety into action together.
Safe + Sound Week is also an opportunity to recognize the important role employees play in creating a strong culture of safety. By participating, employees can learn practical ways to identify hazards, support safe practices and contribute to a safer workplace.
As part of Safe + Sound Week, the Purdue Chemical Engineering Safety Committee and Chemical Engineers for Safety Seminars (ChESS), in collaboration with EHS, will host a hands-on safety fair Thursday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Forney Hall of Chemical Engineering atrium. Participants can visit interactive stations covering a variety of workplace safety topics and learn more about putting safe practices into action.
The week reflects Administrative Operations’ guiding principle of Safe, keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do. Safe + Sound Week is another way Purdue demonstrates its commitment to Excellence in Action, Safety in Mind. By taking part, employees can help promote a culture where safety and health remain a shared priority.
More details about activities and participation will be shared soon. In the meantime, visit the Purdue Safe + Sound webpage for updates. Questions can be directed to Aissata Tour, occupational safety professional, at tourea@purdue.edu.
