WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Amelia Earhart Terminal at the Purdue University Airport (LAF) is celebrating one year since its grand opening and the start of commercial air service with United Express. Since opening on August 5, 2025, the airport experienced growth in numbers, including conducting more than 1,000 flights and having nearly 28,000 passengers travel in and out of the convenient location.
United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines, connects travelers from Purdue University Airport to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) aboard a 50-seat CRJ200 regional jet, providing convenient access to United’s global network of hundreds of domestic and international destinations.
“Reaching our first anniversary is an exciting milestone and a testament to the support of our community, our partners and everyone who has chosen to fly with us,” said Jessica Robertson, associate vice president for Auxiliary Services. “We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in the last year and look forward to building on our success.”
Momentum continues as more than 2,000 passengers are already booked to travel through Dec. 31, 2026, demonstrating continued demand for flying local.
