Indianapolis faculty and staff parking permits extended through July 6, new permits and payroll deduction available
Purdue employees who are assigned to the Indianapolis location by Human Resources and have a 2024-25 parking permit through Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis should be aware that those permits will remain valid through July 6 instead of expiring on June 30.
For the upcoming 2025-26 academic year, Purdue is again partnering with IU Indianapolis to provide parking services to the Purdue community in Indianapolis. Annual parking permits are available for purchase now and will be valid July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Payroll deduction is available as a new payment method option. The recurring credit card payment option has been discontinued.
Permits can be purchased in the IU Indianapolis Parking office located on the second floor of the IU Campus Center (420 University Blvd., Indianapolis) in Suite 205 or through the online IU Parking Portal. To order online, an employee must have an IU Username and Passphrase. Vehicle information is also needed to comply with IU Indianapolis Parking License Plate Recognition (LPR) regulations.
Parking permit rates are set by the IU Indianapolis team and are more expensive due to the urban location. These prices align with the Indianapolis market, and this rate structure can be seen nationally at other urban campuses.
Faculty or staff who will also be working at the West Lafayette location can use their valid IU Indianapolis parking permit at both locations with no additional steps or fees required. When parking at West Lafayette, the IU Indianapolis permit must be displayed from the vehicle’s rearview mirror in eligible spots and also be registered for LPR. These permits are valid in “A” surface lots and non-gated parking garages at West Lafayette.
Additional information about parking in Indianapolis is available on the IU Indianapolis website.
Faculty and staff who are assigned to West Lafayette by Human Resources as their primary location can purchase an annual parking permit through Purdue Parking Operations. Current 2024-25 parking permits expire on Aug. 15. New parking permits are valid Aug. 1, 2025 through Aug. 15, 2026. Information about West Lafayette permits is available online, and additional steps are needed for parking permit reciprocity in Indianapolis.
Purdue Parking Operations staff can assist with questions regarding permits at either location or payroll deduction. Staff are available until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 765-494-9497 or parking@purdue.edu, and the lobby in Stewart Center G054 is open until 4 p.m.
