Third-Year Students & Seniors

What have I accomplished that could help me secure a scholarship? That’s the question NISO tries to help third-year students and seniors answer, along with outlining what they still want to accomplish and which NISO-coordinated scholarships are right for them. Some of these scholarships are for undergraduate work and many of them are for graduate school, but students must apply as undergraduates.

Additionally, we coordinate Purdue’s Peace Corp Prep certificate program, which should be of interest to those considering work in community, humanitarian aid, international development, global industry, government, or many other areas that require international engagement. While first- or second-year is the best time to start working toward the certificate, many juniors and seniors have successfully completed the program and interested individuals should reach out for more information.

Apply As a Third-Year Student For

Eligibility for many of these scholarships is based on time to graduation. Therefore, by "junior" they mean those graduating the following academic year. Please be sure to thoroughly read the eligibility requirements on the foundation websites and consult NISO staff. In order to best assist you, ideally we should discuss this in the fall of your third year if you are on a 4 1/2 or 5 year program.

The following scholarships allow seniors to apply, but due to the selection timeframe, an applicant applying the year they graduate would have a gap year before the start of their scholarship program. If you are a senior who just learned of these opportunities, it's not too late! Please contact us to discuss your specific plan.
