Abigail Stinger was awarded the Gilman Scholarship to intern abroad in Greece on the Education in Transnational Arenas program. While there, she will have the opportunity to interact with students in Greek classrooms as an English tutor. This experience with bilingual education moves her closer to her goals as an educator of emerging bilingual students.

 

Not one to wait for the “perfect timing” or to muster her courage, Abigail believes in going through open doors and challenging herself. The prospect of her first time on a plane and leaving the U.S. excites her. The “perfect time” is “now” whenever an opportunity presents itself.

 

Abigail’s dedication to showing her multi-cultural students how to relate to each other and encouraging her peers to study abroad through Gilman combines with her follow-on project through which she will share her experiences.
