Offered the Gilman Scholarship, Luke Lampkins already positioned himself on a trajectory at Purdue to learn more about the world beyond his immediate surroundings.  After growing up in Michigan, Luke was drawn to Purdue’s Global Science Partners for the opportunity to learn in a residential community of domestic and international students.

 

Seeking to expand his global competencies through study abroad, Luke discovered a perfect fit with Purdue’s Tanzania Study Abroad Program, which is housed in the College of Education. Rather than be deterred by the course requirement to teach science at a Tanzanian school, Luke envisioned how focusing on his presentation skills would contribute to his long-term professional development.
