Reminder: There’s still time to get flu shots on West Lafayette campus

On-site flu-shot events, which support the physical health pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program, on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus end Wednesday (Oct. 26). The last campus flu-shot event, which is open to faculty and staff, takes place 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Stewart Center, Room 214.

As a reminder, seasonal flu shots are provided annually at no charge to all benefits-eligible Purdue faculty, staff and their spouses and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan.

No appointment is required to obtain a flu vaccine at the on-campus event hosted by the Center for Healthy Living.

CHL vaccine information

The CHL will be administering:

• Fluzone quadrivalent vaccine, which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses: two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses. It is approved for anyone ages 6 months and older.
• Flublok quadrivalent vaccine, which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses: two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses. It is approved for use in ages 18 years and older. It is preservative- and egg-free.

Identification required

Regardless of location, individuals coming for a flu shot should bring their Purdue University ID (PUID) card and their insurance card.

Additional flu shot options  

• Center for Healthy Living, 1400 W. State St., Building B, Suite C – Serving faculty, staff and dependents (including pediatric patients) covered on a Purdue health plan. Walk-ins are welcome during normal business hours. No appointment is required.
• Purdue University Pharmacy, 575 Stadium Mall Drive – Serving, faculty, staff and students. Walk-ins are welcome 8:30 a.m.to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but preference will be given to those with an appointment. Purdue Pharmacy is administering the Flucelvax Quadrivalent Pre-filled Syringe this year. It is a preservative-free, egg-free, latex-free product. 
• Employees also can schedule their flu vaccines with their health care providers or at a local pharmacy.

Earn Healthy Boiler incentive dollars

As a reminder, flu shots are included in the 2022 Healthy Boiler incentive as one of the optional well-being screenings in Step 2 for those 18 years and older. Those who get their flu shot in 2022 and log completion into the Healthy Boiler portal are eligible for additional incentive dollars.
