Purdue Fall Undergraduate Research Expo accepting research talk, poster abstracts and judges

Undergraduate students have until noon Oct. 17 to apply to present a research talk or poster on their research or creative endeavors at the 2022 Purdue Fall Undergraduate Research Expo.

The fall expo is being planned as a hybrid event showcasing undergraduate research, with students delivering presentations Nov. 14-21. Undergraduate researchers and scholars from all disciplines are encouraged to participate. Prizes will be awarded for top presenters.

The in-person poster symposium will be Nov. 14 with sessions at 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. in Purdue Memorial Union’s ballrooms. In-person research talks will be Nov. 16 in Stewart Center, Room 214, with times determined based on the number of selected presenters. Throughout the event, the virtual conference will host recorded poster and research talk presentations from Nov. 14-21 on the fall expo’s conference website.

Faculty, staff and graduate students who are interested in judging the posters and research talks during the in-person or virtual events can register on the fall expo’s judging information link. Training will be available for those who would like to attend.

The process of disseminating research results, gaining valuable feedback from peers and professors, and networking with other participants is a vital step in the learning process of engaging in a research experience. The Purdue Fall Undergraduate Research Expo is organized by the Office of Undergraduate Research, with representatives from colleges and units on the undergraduate research planning committee.

The OUR website also features this semester’s seminar series, a listing of available undergraduate research opportunities, resources for getting started in undergraduate research and a method to subscribe to the undergraduate research newsletter.
