Purdue community invited to participate in ‘Health and Kinesiology Week’
The College of Health and Human Sciences will host “Health and Kinesiology Week” on April 18-22. Throughout the week, different areas of study in the Department of Health and Kinesiology will be celebrated. The events are free and open to the campus community.
Monday (April 18)
- Cookie day. Pick up a free cookie in Lambert Fieldhouse lobby.
Tuesday (April 19)
- Research showcase. Health and kinesiology graduate students will present their research with interactive presentations from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Lambert Fieldhouse lobby.
- Smoothie day. Complimentary pedal-powered smoothies from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Lambert Fieldhouse lobby.
Wednesday (April 20)
- Distinctive service recipient day. Meet and speak with HK’s Distinctive Service Recipients at noon-1 p.m. in the Lambert Fieldhouse lobby.
- HK’s Distinctive Service Recipients will take questions and discuss issues and challenges in the field of kinesiology. Hosted by the HK Majors Club, the event is 4-5 p.m. in Hampton Hall, Room 1144.
- EIM walking challenge. Meet at 12:10 p.m. at the "Unfinished Block P" sculpture north of Stewart Center for a mile walk through campus.
Thursday (April 21)
- Athletic training lunch and learn featuring Walter Jenkins, professor of physical therapy and rehabilitation sciences, Georgia Southern University, at 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Lambert Fieldhouse, Room 108. Refreshments will be provided.
Friday (April 22)
- Fitness at the Fountain. Play spike ball, cornhole, ladder ball and more at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Class of 1939 Water Sculpture (commonly referred to as the Purdue Mall fountain).
