Symposium series to discuss future of learning

The Innovation Hub, part of the Innovation College and the Transformative Education 2.0 initiative of Purdue's Next Moves, has announced a four-part virtual symposium series on the future of learning.

The sessions will take place virtually at 3 p.m. ET on consecutive Wednesdays — March 23, March 30, April 6 and April 13. The sessions will focus on future trends and directions relevant to residential education, with a specific focus on physical and virtual spaces, learning at scale, open spaces including libraries and makerspaces, and living-learning communities.

The goal of the symposium series is to engage the Purdue community in critical discussions about the future of teaching and learning and the central role that instructional spaces will play.

Faculty and staff are invited to participate in the series, which will be moderated by Jenna Rickus, vice provost for teaching and learning.

Each session will consist of a panel of national thought leaders, Purdue local experts and the Purdue community at large in a series of conversations about the future of learning and its likely impacts on the physical and virtual learning spaces associated with Purdue’s residential learning programs.

Transformative Education 2.0 is one of the five strategic initiatives that seek to make Purdue the most innovative residential learning program in the U.S.
