2020-21 parking permits to expire Sunday; 2021-22 options available with guidance for gated garages
The sale of 2021-22 parking permits for faculty and staff was recently announced in Purdue Today ahead of the expiration of 2020-21 annual parking permits and garage access cards on Sunday (Aug. 15).
Expired garage access cards should be destroyed at that time. Fees associated with the use of an expired garage access card are nonrefundable.
Vehicles that are parked on the West Lafayette campus after Aug. 15 may be subject to receiving a citation unless an active parking permit is linked to the license plate or physically displayed when required.
In the event that license plate readers at the gated Grant Street and Harrison Street parking garages are unable to recognize the license plate linked to a 2021-22 “A” permit, the use of a new, physical garage access card will be required at these locations beginning Aug. 16. If a 2021-22 permit has been purchased online but the associated garage access card has not yet arrived through campus mail, “A” permit holders will need to use other parking locations such as non-gated parking garages or surface lots where “A” permits are eligible. Those who are eligible for a garage access card should always have it available when parking in the gated garages.
As an alternative, a ticket system with hourly rates remains an option to use the gated Grant Street and Harrison Street parking garages without a current garage access card. Payment must be made on-site at the time of departure with a Visa, Mastercard or Discover debit or credit card. Hourly parking is nonrefundable.
