Undergraduate Research Scholarship application open for 2021-22

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Scholars program is now accepting applications for the 2021-22 academic year. OUR offers this research scholarship program to recognize undergraduate student engagement in original research, scholarship or creative work under the guidance of a Purdue faculty or approved mentor.

These annual nonrenewable academic scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 ($500 per semester) are made available through an equal partnership between OUR and each of the participating colleges and schools. The Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies covers the full cost of its OUR Scholarships.

The process in selecting OUR Scholars can vary across academic units. Either researchers can post available positions to OURConnect for interested students to apply directly, or students can submit a research proposal with a mentor’s letter of support for a project. Complete details can be found on the OUR Scholars website.

Researchers who want to use OURConnect have until March 5 to post their available research position for their respective units to approve the projects. Students will apply to those projects within OURConnect on March 11-26.

Researchers and their student mentees who want to submit a research proposal and letter of support must do so by March 26. Students begin the process to upload their research proposals, triggering email notifications for research mentors to submit letters of support.

Participating units are the colleges of Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts, Pharmacy and Science, Krannert School of Management, Purdue Polytechnic Institute, the Honors College and Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies.
