Healthy Boiler workshop to focus on retirement plan target-date investments
On Nov. 4, a Vanguard presenter will offer a 30-minute, virtual Healthy Boiler workshop focused on target-date investments. Vanguard target-date funds are part of the University’s investment lineup for retirement plans whose records are kept by Fidelity Investments. Offered at a variety of times, and supporting the financial wellness pillar of the Healthy Boiler Program, the workshop topics will include:
- What is a target-date investment?
- Why might someone want to consider a target-date investment?
- How does someone choose a target-date investment that’s right for them?
Those who are currently participating in, or are considering a target-date investment, and would like to learn more should attend one of the live virtual workshop offerings available at 10 a.m., noon or 6 p.m. ET. Participants will be able to ask questions and have them answered -- in real time -- by a Vanguard presenter.
Interested individuals can register now.

A note from Fidelity Investments about risk
All investing is subject to risk, including the possible loss of the money invested. Target-date investments are subject to the risks of their underlying funds. The year in the investment name refers to the approximate year (the target date) when an investor would retire and leave the workforce. The investment will gradually shift its emphasis from more aggressive investments to more conservative ones based on its target date. A target-date investment is not guaranteed at any time, including on or after the target date.
