Center for Healthy Living workshop to focus on self-care before upcoming holiday season

As the holiday season approaches, the Center for Healthy Living on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus is offering a workshop on Dec. 4 titled “Let the Self-Care Cat Out of the Bag.”

Led by Amanda Douglas, employee assistance counselor at CHL, the workshop has the goal to help individuals optimize self-care and continue it into next year.

“Holidays and vacations, despite their definitions, can be particularly stressful,” Douglas says. “When you combine the two, they can either be especially stressful or rewarding, depending on how we approach them. In the workshop, we will discuss the best ways to reduce the associated stress with this time of year and in return learn how to truly enjoy the time off.”

The workshop will take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. at Stewart Center, Room 313. Those interested in attending should register by Dec. 3 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. Registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage.

Workshops provided by the Center for Healthy Living are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan. Questions can be directed to CHL at 765-494-0111.
