‘Social wellness’ to be focus of Center for Healthy Living workshop

The Center for Healthy Living (CHL) on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus is offering a free workshop focused on social wellness to benefits-eligible faculty, staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.

Led by Amanda Douglas, employee assistance counselor at the CHL, the workshop will address social wellness – individuals' relationship with others -- and will explore what social wellness looks like for each individual participant.

“In this presentation and discussion, we will cover different tools and strategies for achieving social wellness and share our goals based on our personal preferences,” Douglas says. “It’s ironic that by participating in a discussion about social wellness, we are actually fulfilling personal wellness.”

The workshop will take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Córdova Recreational Sports Center’s Wellness Conference Room, Room 2236.

Interested individuals should register by Sept. 17 via the Healthy Boiler Portal. Registration link can be found under the “Engage” tab, “Wellness Events” on the portal’s homepage.

Workshops provided by the Center for Healthy Living (and in conjunction with Purdue Extension) are free to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan. Any questions can be directed to the CHL at 765-494-0111.
