Nominations sought for CILMAR intercultural award

Purdue's Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research is calling for nominations for its 2018 CILMAR Vision award.

CILMAR envisions a campus where intercultural adeptness is as much a part of the Boilermaker identity as is scientific and technical virtuosity. CILMAR Vision awards of $1,000 will be presented to recognize faculty and staff who are fulfilling the center's mission and vision. Two awards will be given:

* One to recognize faculty and staff who embed intercultural learning, mentorship, or assessment for students studying abroad.

* One to recognize faculty and staff who embed intercultural learning, mentorship and assessment into a course of study or program on the Purdue campus.

Nominators should submit the following to cilmar@purdue.edu before the application deadline of March 16:

* A letter of narrative explaining why the nominee should be selected, emphasizing connections with CILMAR’s vision and mission (no more than one page). Strongest cases will demonstrate outstanding efforts across more than one area of CILMAR’s mission.

* An abbreviated CV highlighting scholarly and pedagogical work that supports this nomination (no more than three pages).

* Brief email of endorsement from the applicant’s head of department/school or supervisor (no more than one page).

Self-nomination is allowed and welcomed.

The award will be presented at the CILMAR Celebration to be held April 4. For more information, contact Kris Acheson-Clair at krisac@purdue.edu.
